How to Prepare

If you have had medical evaluation or treatment related to those conditions you want us to address, please bring all lab reports or imaging results with you to your appointment (i.e. blood work, ultrasound reports, semen analysis, etc.). We want to review those reports and incorporate the findings into our Traditional Chinese Medicine assessment.

If you are recording your Basal Body Temperature, bring your chart with you to each visit.

  • Set aside time before and after your appointment- we want you to be in a calm state of mind during your appointment, not worrying about a stressful work meeting that you have to rush to after

  • Bring a list of all your current medications and supplements- as trained herbalists, we will most likely be prescribing you a Chinese Herbal Formula to complement your acupuncture treatment and must know what you are currently taking to avoid any negative interactions

  • Eat before your appointment- by eating before your appointment, you are avoiding the “woozy” feeling that can occur on an empty stomach during an acupuncture session

  • Wear loose fitting clothing- this helps with accessibility for the acupuncture points, we can always provide you a sheet to cover yourself with or you may also disrobe and lie comfortably draped under sheets & blankets for modesty if that is more convenient.

  • Avoid caffeine 2 hours before your appointment- caffeine stimulates our fight-or-flight response, a response that acupuncture seeks to lessen
