How does it work?
The Celluma Light panel device utilizes LED and NIR (near infrared) light energy and proprietary phototherapy technologies to promote an increase of blood circulation, accelerate tissue regeneration and repair, kill acne causing bacteria on the surface of the skin, decrease inflammatory response, improve skin tone and texture, and reduce muscle and joint pain associated with arthritis or injury.
Through the use of light technology, specific wavelengths of light energy (seen to the eye as red or blue light) are dispersed throughout the tissue, resulting in many therapeutic benefits. This light energy targets the skin cells by killing bacteria on the skin that contributes to acne and breakouts, and also stimulates fibroblasts located deep within the skin layers to release collagen and elastin to help achieve a vibrant and youthful glow. This non-invasive treatment is 100% pain free and does not involve the use of injections or harsh chemicals, which can damage the skin’s barrier protection.
What are the benefits?
Pain-This device has been scientifically proven to relieve arthritic pain, muscle and joint pain and stiffness. The red and blue wavelengths are so powerful and deeply penetrating, being absorbed by photoreceptors in the mitochondria to provide comprised cells with the energy to regain and restore function naturally by increasing the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). How we use it at Onyx
When treating acne and breakouts, we use the Celluma blue light dominant LED program. This antibacterial wavelength causes P.Acnes bacteria to actually break down and destroy itself.
When treating anti-aging and inflammation, we use the Celluma red light dominant LED program. This wavelength increases microcirculation to bring more oxygen, blood, and nutrients to the area for healthier skin and tissue regeneration. We can also see skin tone and firmness improve because the red light therapy enhances immune and lymphatic responses for increased drainage and removal of dead cells and toxins from the area.
We use the Celluma device during all Cosmetic Acupuncture and Microneedling treatments, and this service can be added to traditional acupuncture sessions as well. Your practitioner will decide which light program is most appropriate for your specific presentation of symptoms and skin concerns.
